To create an eco-system where we can push strategies to make a mega city like Delhi, cycle friendly. To create a platform where we can raise the people’s right regarding comfortable cities, which uses the sustainable modes of transport, support cyclists and pedestrians more than motor vehicles.
To become a leading event in India where we can dream to make megacities of India more cycle and pedestrians friendly through talks, sharing ideas, riding together and raising global voices.
What is 24 Spokes?
“24 SPOKES” is planned to be an annual event of Delhi by Cycle, and its purpose is to generate awareness of the necessity of transforming Delhi into a Cycle friendly city, as an important starting point to fight against air pollution. Our team is totally convinced that an event like “24 SPOKES” where idea is to invite 50+ people from 30+ countries living in New Delhi, will improve the consciousness of the citizens, stakeholders & policymakers in the city; because, even though, Delhi is very important in terms of culture and heritage is also one of the most polluted cities in the world.
Why Delhi Needs 24 Spokes?
First cycle tour team in India DELHI BY CYCLE is celebrating the 2nd UN World Bicycle Day. For our team, it is very important to make efforts to generate awareness for cycling in India, and particularly in Delhi. We consider that Cycling is the best option to improve the quality of the air that we breathe in our city and a healthy mean of transportation for the citizens. According to this we want to take the chance to invite you to our event “24 SPOKES 2019” which is going to take place on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 and will consist of a cycle tour starting from Asaf Ali Rd at 6.00 am and going by cycle to Connaught place, President House, Raisina Hills, India Gate and finishing at Asaf Ali Road at 08.30am. After the cycle tour, we are going to lead an open forum discussion about cycling, Delhi as a cycle-friendly city and environmental concerns. With these important discussions, we will finish the event by 10.00am.
