West Coast Ride is a beautiful journey starting from one of the most beautiful cities in India, Mysore. Culturally & historically rich, this city is also for its food, festival, and beautiful palaces. We cannot think about any other beautiful place to start this journey from! This ride is all about understanding the real soul of India, unity in diversity. Cycling through several villages, language accents, people, lakes, valleys, plantations, and whatnot.
Western Cost Mountains also are known as Western Ghat is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The rich biodiversity of these mountains makes them one of the most important factors for weather and rains in the region. 4000+ species of plants, 650+ species of trees, 150+ species of reptiles, 170+ species of amphibians, 220+ species of fish and this list can go on forever. Crossing some of the most beautiful coffee plantations in India and magical villages, this tour is something to look forward to.
Some of the best-handpicked places to stay, not luxury all the time but sometimes come up with beautiful stories. Soon our days and ride along with the beaches are adventurous again. Crossing some of the most beautiful beaches, and most probably staying at some. We will end this trip in Goa at a beautiful beach, Palolem. Cycling through these roads is going to connect you not just with the locals, nature, soul of India but also to yourself. We always end up finding ourselves more on cycling tours like this!

The West Coast Stories
Day 1: Day in Mysore
A day to explore this beautiful city full of palaces, food, and stories. Explore this ancient city with one of the city lovers. Also, we will have an orientation afternoon and welcome dinner to start our beautiful and adventurous journey.
Day 2: Mysore to Shravanbela Gola | Distance: 75km | Elevation: Flat 700m
A normal and beautiful ride from Mysore to ancient Jain town Shravanabelagola, with one of the tallest monolithic statue in the world. Almost a flat ride for the day with a distance of 75km. Stay in this beautiful small town.
Day 3: Shravanabelagola – Chikmagalur | Distance : 86/108km | Elevation : Flat 800m
A big longer ride than the first day but taking you to some of the most beautiful temples in India and finish the day in the coffee capital of India, Chikmagalur. Another almost flat day ride! People can either stop in Belur and put cycle in the backup vehicle or ride another 22km to the coffee town.
Day 4: Chikmagalur – Sringeri | Distance : 83km | Elevation : 636 – 1300m
Going to be one of the most beautiful days and also one of the toughest ones as well. Going from an elevation of 636 meters to 1300 meters in the valley of coffee plantations, small villages, and some beautiful small rivers. We will reach a beautiful temple town of Sringeri. 83km in the hills.
Day 5: Sringeri – Agumbe | Distance: 29km | Elevation: 633 – 680m
Do you know about one of the most beautiful villages in India, yes we are taking you there. Known as Agumbe, in the middle of Western Ghat mountains, we will ride just 29 km in the hills to reach this village from Sringeri, and spend the evening walking in this beautiful village.
Day 6: Agumbe – Baindur– Murudhswar | Distance: 90/123km | Elevation: 658 – 4m
One of the best downhill cycling you can experience, all the way from around 650 meters to sea level. The ride is a bit long this day, either you can Baindur or to Murudeshwar. We are going to stay in a temple town dedicated to Shiva and also famous for one of the oldest Shiva Temples.
Day 7: Murudhswar – Gokarna | Distance: 64km | Elevation: 1 – 85m
This day we are going to ride almost 64km and also cross the sea with our cycles using boats of a small fishing village to reach another ancient and holy beach town, known as Gokarna. The elevation is going to take your test though.
Day 8: GOKARNA | Distance : 0 km | Rest Day
We are going to spend a whole day relaxing at the beach, exploring the small town. If you want, you can hike up to some completely-rock-enclosed beaches nearby. Or the day is all yours to take some rest.
Day 9: Gokarna – Karwar | Distance: 50km | Elevation : 3 – 65m
50km ride to Karwar and we will reach this big city on the west coast and also one of the biggest naval bases of India. Stay in this city and some market & museum visits by evening.
Day 10: Karwar – Palolem Beach, Goa| Distance: 30km | Elevation: 4 – 84m
A final stretch to one of the most beautiful beaches of Goa, Palolem. 30 km and challenging elevation from 4 to 84 meters.

Biking Conditions: The roads are usually flat and elevated both and with a lot of gradients. Beautiful villages and real picture of India is on this tour. People with moderate and leisure cycling experience can also join us for this beautiful experience, as we also have a backup vehicle following us.
Bikes: We use well maintained hybrid bikes for this trip. If you are bringing your own cycle do let us know before.
Bike Repairs: Basic tools and spares are carried by the guide and on the support vehicle, though we cannot guarantee to have spares for every conceivable problem.
Safety: Wearing a helmet is required on all our biking adventures and is non-negotiable. If you do not wear a helmet you will not be allowed to cycle. Your tour leader is trained in first aid and emergency rescue, but to a large degree, you must be responsible for your own safety while riding.
Guide: You will be led by a local English-speaking guide and if the group is 9 people or more we will add another guide to the tour. All our guides are well informed in the history, culture, and religions of the area where you are biking and are skilled at passing that knowledge on to you. Your guide is also medically trained and an experienced cyclist, able to handle most minor repairs en route.
